Stylish and Unreliable
By FairStar | on Monday, April 15, 2024
Volvo cars have left me disappointed when it comes to reliability. Unfortunately, their service and customer care only add to the frustration and make you question your decision to buy a Volvo. Let me share my personal experience, and you can be the judge. In mid-December, my 10-month-old XC60 Recharge unexpectedly shut down for no apparent reason. After reporting the issue, it took volvo roadside assistance a whopping 12 hours to arrive. Imagine being stuck in the middle of nowhere for that long. When they finally showed up, they attempted various fixes but to no avail. Ultimately, they had to tow my car to the service center where I initially purchased it. To my dismay, the service center neglected my car for the first four days without even offering a loaner vehicle, despite my repeated requests. This was quite disheartening considering they had claimed to be a premium brand when I purchased the car. In reality, their service fell short and felt more like a budget option. After spending over a week in the service center, I was finally asked to pick up my car. However, my happiness quickly turned into disappointment when the dashboard started showing errors within 10 minutes of driving. I had to return the car the very next day for further repairs. As of my latest update on January 31, 2023, my car is still in service for the third time in the past 45 days. In fact, during the last 45 days, I have only had my car with me for a mere 3 days; the rest of the time, it has been at Palo Alto Volvo Service. There are lot many small problems, if i write here, it will become a 50 page book. Another day. If you visit Twitter and search for tweets about Volvocars, you'll find numerous similar experiences shared by others. It's disheartening to see a brand with such potential fall short in terms of reliability and customer support.… - 1.0
Not even a decent car
By Peter | on Tuesday, December 13, 2022
its been just 10 months since i bought the car. Most annoying thing is its Infotainment system. But thats the least of your worries. Suddenly one day my car completely became unresponsive. Funny thing is the SOS button which suppose to work in emergency also shut down. Jump start did not work. Fortunately all this happened at my home. I called for Volvo road side support in the morning. They came 7pm in the evening. Imagine you are stuck in a remote area. They tried few tricks , finally towed to nearest service center. Volvo Service center kept the car for 6 days , no replacement car. Any way the service guy told me that there is a software issue (some kind of conflict). He casually said its very common issue, all good. I gave one more complain to them that heating system is not working , it blows cold air in winter. They could not fix the problem since the spare part orders are backlogged since lot of cars have same issue. When they get the spare part they will call me back. Now after service i feel that the acceleration is jerky. Problems with Volvo never ends. Paying 72K for a worth less car is stupidity, only i have to blame my self.… - 1.0
Be Warned
By oh no Volvo | on Friday, December 03, 2021
The car is far from ready to be in the market. The issues we have experience are alarming. The new infortainment system and other electronic systems just doesn't work - at all. It's full of bugs. The dealer has been great, I have empathy for the dealer as they are tasked with selling a car that clearly has not been tested before launch - or Volvo just don't care. It drives like a dream, but when the internal systems are such a big part of a car these days, it's an awful car to live with.…
