Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Volvo V90 has two trim options, the Plus and the Ultimate. Both trims are available in eight exterior color options and sport Volvo's distinctive Swedish design with black grille bars, glossy chrome frame and detailing, and body-color front and rear bumpers. Standard on the Plus are 20-inch diamond cut wheels with all-season tires, a laminated panoramic moonroof with power sunshade, tinted rear privacy glass, rain-detecting variable intermittent wipers, aluminum roof rails, and auto-dimming, power retractable heated side mirrors with reverse tilt down.
The Ultimate trim includes everything the Plus has but upgrades the wheels to 21 inches.
Engine (Power)
Both 2023 Volvo V90 Cross Country trims are equipped with a 295 horsepower, twin-charged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a hybrid electric motor. Volvo's mild hybrid engine provides 310-pound feet of torque.
Performance
All-wheel drive (AWD) and an eight-speed Geartronic automatic transmission with manual mode select are standard on all 2023 Volvo V90s. Its double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension are able to tow a maximum of 3,500 pounds. The 2023 Volvo V90 has a 15.9 -gallon fuel tank capacity, and its fuel economy maxes out at 22 city mpg, 29 highway mpg, and 25 combined mpg.
Interior
Volvo's upscale design is also apparent in the 2023 V90's interior styling, which utilizes leather upholstery with aluminum trims as well as genuine ash wood decor accents and inserts. The spacious interior seats five with heated power-adjustable front seats and 60/40 folding split-bench rear seats. There is also room for plenty of luggage and gear, with 69 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. The 2023 Volvo V90 is also packed with dozens of technology features, including a Google-powered infotainment system that boasts a 9-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, built-in Wi-Fi, and navigation. A 12-inch digital gauge and four-zone climate control are also included.
The Ultimate is equipped with Nappa leather upholstery, a graphical head-up display, Harman Kardon premium sound system, and a gear shift made of genuine Swedish crystal.
Safety Features
The 2023 Volvo V90 gets high safety ratings for its whiplash injury and side impact protection systems supported by an advanced suite of driver safety and assist features. Lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning, forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot information system with rear cross-traffic detection, and automatic emergency braking are standard. Additional features include a driver attention monitor, parking sensors, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and road sign information.
